REBECCA CLAIRE FORD
the objects that i make surround ideas of play, warmth, and home. whether that is through the lens of an adult, a child, or meant to be open to both, i like to create work that is whimsical, but also maintains a tone of sophistication. i see the role of the objects i create as both sculptural and that of a functional furniture object. i believe that fun and beautiful objects do not need to sacrifice their excitement for usability. i am drawn to create these vibrant, comfortable, nostalgic, sometimes naive, objects because of the environments, educators, family, and friends that have fostered my growth.
currently completing the bfa furniture design program at the rhode island school of design
